    We have a free membership, but using the Halo App and connecting for real loans requires the Halo Membership which is $99 per year! Backers can charge up to 35% when lending money.
  • What's the difference between being a Borrower, Backer, or Group creator on the Halo App?
    Borrowers request loans, Backers lend money, and Group creators establish private spaces for members to connect. It's your choice how you want to participate.
  • Can I leave a Group if I no longer wish to be a Member?
    Yes, you can leave a Group at any time if you no longer wish to be a member. Simply navigate to the Group settings in the app and choose the option to leave the Group or reach out to your assigned Community Manager or Group Coordinator.
  • How can I find Groups that match my interests or needs?
    You can browse and search for available Groups on the Halo App. You can also see our available Groups on your Member-Only pages by signing into your account. Our goal is to provide a diverse range of Groups to cater to various interests and needs.
  • Can I invite others to join my Group on The Halo App?
    Yes, as the Creator or Member of a Group, you can invite others to join your Group, provided they meet the membership criteria and guidelines of that particular Group. Group rates are available.
  • Is there a limit to the number of Groups I can join or create?
    While there isn't a strict limit to the number of Groups you can join, creating a new Group requires approval due to resource limitations. We encourage Members to create Groups that add value to the community.

    Being part of a Group allows you to connect with like-minded Members, connect on loans, share experiences, and access unique data and insights. It's a supportive community designed to help you achieve your financial goals with a others.
  • What are Groups on the Halo App?
    Groups on The Halo App are private spaces where Members can connect for various purposes, including seeking and providing loans. These groups can be based on location, common interests, or created by individual members for specific needs. Groups are perfect for corporations, Facebook groups, faith communities, small businesses, etc.
  • What types of Groups are available on the Halo App?
    We have a wide range of Groups, including those created by our team based on location or causes (e.g., residents of a specific city, survivors of domestic violence) and those created by individual members for their businesses, faith communities, or other organizations.
  • Are Groups private and secure?
    Yes, Groups on the Halo App are private and secure. We take your privacy seriously and ensure that only approved Members have access to the Group's content, discussions, and loan offers.
  • How can I create a Group on the Halo App?
    If you are a member in good standing (without any ongoing loan issues), you can apply to create a Group. While we can't have unlimited Groups, we carefully consider each application to ensure they serve a meaningful purpose within our community.

    Groups provide a private and secure environment for Members to connect and interact. They are particularly useful for Borrowers and Backers to connect for loans, privately. Backers can filter loan requests by Group, and Members can share unique data within the Group.

    Yes, Groups on the Halo App also have their own Halo Scores, providing a collective risk assessment for the Members within that Group.
  • What is a Halo Score, and why is it important?
    A Halo Score is a rating that reflects the trustworthiness of a Borrower. It ranges from AA (high trust) to E (lower trust). It's vital because it helps Backers (lenders) make informed loan decisions.
  • How does the Halo Score affect lenders (Backers)?
    Lenders (Backers) can use the Halo Score to assess the risk level of potential Borrowers. It helps them make lending decisions that match their comfort level.
  • Is the Halo Score the only factor considered for loan approval?
    No, while the Halo Score is an important factor, other criteria, such as the loan amount, repayment plan, and your app history, are also considered when Backers (lenders) select loans. Backers (lenders) also consider the Group you are apart of e.g. they may just want to support coworkers.

    Yes, as a Member, you can view your own Halo Score within the app. It's a helpful tool to understand your borrowing capacity. You can also see what information is used to calculate your Halo Score.

    To improve your Halo Score, focus on maintaining steady employment, reducing debt, and making timely repayments on your loans.
  • Can I filter loans by Halo Score?
    Yes, Backers (lenders) have the option to filter loan requests by Halo Score, making it easier for them to find Borrowers whose risk level aligns with their preferences.

    The Halo Score is updated regularly to ensure that it reflects the most current information about a Borrower's financial situation.
  • What if my Halo Score changes after I've received a loan?
    Your Halo Score may change based on your financial activity. However, it won't affect your existing loan terms.

    We calculate the Halo Score by considering factors such as employment, earnings, debt, liabilities, potential expenses, earning potential, and in-app activity.
  • Are there any hidden fees or charges associated with loans?
    We believe in transparency. There are no hidden fees or charges associated with loans on the Halo App. You'll know all the costs upfront.
  • How much can I borrow through the Halo App?
    You can borrow up to $1,000 through the Halo App, allowing you some flexibility in meeting your financial needs. All of these loans are backed by other Members who are actual people across the US. Members in your Groups may be people you know, although these loans are anonymous.

    We understand that life can be unpredictable. Borrowers are granted a one-time grace period that allows them to skip a payment if needed.
  • How much can Backers (lenders) charge?
    Backers can charge up to 35% on the loans they provide to other members. This allows Backers to earn while helping others.
  • Can I decide how much I need to borrow and for how long?
    Absolutely! Borrowers have the flexibility to determine the loan amount and the repayment duration that best fits their needs.
  • What is the maximum repayment period for loans?
    Loans on the Halo App have a maximum repayment period of 6 months. You can choose the duration that suits your repayment capability. Loans are repaid biweekly and are pulled automatically from your linked bank account on the agreed upon due dates.
  • How do I keep track of my loan details and repayment schedule?
    Your loan details and repayment schedule are accessible through your Halo App account. We provide tools to help you stay organized and informed. Feel free to reach out to your Support Team as well, your assigned Member Care team member can let you know your loan details at any time.
  • Can I request another loan once I've repaid my current one?
    Yes, once you've repaid your loan, you can request another one if needed, subject to our terms and conditions.
  • How are loan repayments structured?
    Loan repayments are made biweekly in installments, making it easier to manage your repayment schedule.
  • Is there any penalty for late payments?
    While we encourage timely repayments, there are no specific penalties for late payments. We offer support to help Borrowers through challenging times. You will NOT be able to renew your membership, borrow again, or enjoy Member perks without being in good-standing and repaying your Backer in full.

    Upgrading is easy. Simply log in to your account, visit the membership or Pricing section, and choose the option to upgrade to a paid Halo Membership. You'll enjoy immediate access to all the premium features. You will also be assigned a full Member Support team within the first 48 hours.

    Yes, absolutely! When you sign up for the free Learning Zone membership, you'll have access to a demo version of our app. This allows you to explore and experience our app before committing to a paid membership.     Our goal is to provide quick loans. This is, of course, dependent on the amount of loans that are requested in a given time, and the number of Members that are actively Backing loans. You can typically expect to receive an offer from a Backer within a few days. If you are having trouble receiving offers for a loan, please reach out to your Group Coordinator. There may be a Group that has more activity that you are a good fit for.
  • How do I request a loan on the Halo App?
    To request a loan, simply login to the app on Android or iOS, and click on the "Request" button at the bottom of the Main Screen. If it is your first Borrow Request, you must follow the steps to submit information to receive a Halo Score, providing the necessary information. The last two screens will ask you how much you need, how long you need to repay the loan up to 6 months and what the loan will be used for.

    You'll need to provide details about your employment, earnings, debts, liabilities, potential expenses, earning potential, and in-app activity. This helps us determine your eligibility. We also ask questions about your living and family situation to estimate potential costs, and other questions.
  • Is my credit score a factor?
    No, we focus on factors like your employment and earnings rather than traditional credit scores to determine eligibility. Our Halo Score is intended to be a new system. You are starting fresh, be a Member we all can trust and you will have unlimited access to the best financial opportunities.
  • How long do I have to repay the loan?
    You have a maximum of 6 months to repay the loan. Repayments are made biweekly in installments. Please take longer than you think you need. If you think you need 4 months, take 5 or 6 months and break your loan into smaller repayments.
  • What if I have questions or need assistance during the loan request process?
    If you have any questions or need assistance at any stage of the process, our support team is here to help. Simply reach out, and we'll provide the guidance you need.

    Yes, you can easily track your loan request's status through your account dashboard. We'll keep you informed throughout the process. You will receive a notification and email when you receive an offer from another Member.
